Terms of service
Last updated 31 October 2026. Written to be read, not to hide things.
1. What we do
Librum keeps digital records of your business income and expenses from the receipts, invoices and bank statements you send us, sorts them into the categories HMRC uses, has a trained person check them, and gives you a summary each quarter. We do not currently send anything to HMRC and we do not give tax advice. If that changes, we will ask for your written authority first.
2. The deposit
The £20 deposit reserves your place for our April launch and is taken off your first month. If we do not launch the service, we refund it in full. You can also ask for it back at any time before your service starts.
3. Price and cancelling
The service is £20 a month, charged monthly from the date your service starts. You can cancel at any time and we stop charging from the next month. We will tell you at least 30 days before any price change.
4. What you are responsible for
- Sending us all your business receipts, invoices and statements, and sending them in time for each quarter.
- Answering our questions when we are not sure whether something is business or personal.
- Checking your quarterly summary and telling us if anything is wrong before you or your accountant use it.
- Your tax returns and any tax you owe. Under the law, the records and the return remain your responsibility, and any HMRC penalties for late or incorrect returns are yours.
5. What we are responsible for
We take reasonable care to record and categorise everything you send us accurately, and to have a person check it. If we make a mistake, we will correct it at no charge. Our total liability to you in any year is limited to the fees you paid us in that year. We are not liable for losses caused by records you did not send us, sent late, or sent incorrectly.
6. Your documents
We keep your documents for the period HMRC requires (5 years after the filing deadline for that tax year) and you can ask for a full copy at any time. How we look after your data is in our privacy notice.
7. Money laundering checks
Bookkeeping services in the UK must be supervised for anti-money-laundering purposes. Before your service starts we may ask you to confirm your identity and address, as the law requires.
8. The legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: tanuj.kakumani2@gmail.com.
